Dubai has more cranes listed than any other emirate on EquipmentsFinder. Today 256 cranes are available for hire from 76 suppliers, 2 of them verified, and 254 of the machines sit in Dubai city. The listings range from small spider cranes for a fit-out to crawler cranes for structural lifts.
Every listing gives the type, make, year and location, with the supplier's phone and WhatsApp number. EquipmentsFinder charges renters nothing and takes no commission. Cranes in other emirates are on the UAE crane page.
Call a supplier from a listing when a machine looks right, or post the lift as a request. A good request states the load weight, the radius, the lift height, the site and the dates, so suppliers can propose a crane that covers the lift. Open requests are visible on the inquiry board.
The same steps apply on the equipment rental hub for every category.
Liebherr is the most listed make in Dubai with 76 cranes, followed by XCMG (49), Tadano (24), Sany (21), Kobelco (12), Terex (11), Kato (11) and Zoomlion (10). By type, 200 listings are mobile cranes, 38 are crawler cranes, 9 are 4×4 cranes, 7 are spider cranes and 1 is a tower crane.
Mobile cranes make up four listings in every five in Dubai. They drive to the site, extend outriggers and begin lifting, which is why they suit lifts that last a day or a week, such as setting plant on a roof or placing precast. Truck-mounted and all-terrain cranes have no separate type in Dubai today, so ask the supplier which carrier a listed crane uses.
Rough-terrain cranes have large tyres and four-wheel drive for unmade ground. EquipmentsFinder groups them as 4×4 cranes, and 9 are listed in Dubai. They tend to arrive on a low-bed trailer, since they are not built for long road journeys.
Crawler cranes stand on tracks, which spread the load across soft ground and allow heavy lifts and travel with the load. Thirty-eight are listed in Dubai. Expect longer set-up times and a hire measured in weeks rather than days.
Tower cranes are erected on the site and climb with the building. One tower crane is listed in Dubai today, so a project needing several should post a request with the tower height, the jib length and the programme.
Spider cranes are compact tracked machines with outriggers, used for glazing, rooftop plant and lifts inside buildings. Seven are listed in Dubai.
Gantry cranes are not a separate category on EquipmentsFinder. A workshop or yard that needs one can post a request and reach suppliers who hold them.
A crane's rated capacity applies at a short radius. As the load moves further from the crane, the permitted weight falls sharply, so the lift is defined by three figures together: the weight, the radius and the height. A load that is light on paper may need a large crane if the crane must stand far from the point of placement.
Add the site conditions to those figures: the space for outriggers, the ground bearing and any overhead obstruction. Suppliers can then match a machine, and they will tell you when a crawler is the better choice than a wheeled crane.
Operators and riggers are arranged separately by different suppliers, and the listing or the supplier confirms what is included. One of the 256 Dubai cranes currently states that an operator is offered. Heavy equipment operators need a valid licence for the machine class, and crane lifts on construction sites need a lift plan, so settle who writes the plan and who supplies the slings and spreaders.
The price depends mainly on capacity and type, then on hire period, mobilisation and crew. Of the Dubai listings, 11 publish a daily rate. These run up to AED 5,000, with a typical rate around AED 1,800. Another 11 publish a monthly rate, running up to AED 65,000, with a typical monthly rate around AED 30,000.
The range is wide because it mixes small and large machines, so the typical figure is a better guide than the lowest or highest. Most listings carry no price. Ask for a quote that states what is included.
With 254 of the 256 cranes in Dubai city, most jobs in Al Quoz, Jebel Ali (JAFZA), Dubai Investments Park, Al Qusais or Ras Al Khor can be served by a crane based in the same emirate. The listing states the yard location, which affects the mobilisation charge.
For a project outside Dubai, see the Dubai equipment hub for related categories, or the UAE crane page for the other emirates.
Cranes in Dubai are hired for building construction and infrastructure, for lifting plant and machinery in industrial premises, and for loading and positioning heavy items on trailers. Specialist work, such as lifting in oil and gas facilities, usually needs an additional site induction and documentation, so state the nature of the site in the request.
Post a crane request with the capacity, lift details, site and dates, and suppliers respond directly. The same category across the country is on the UAE crane page, and cranes to buy are listed under cranes for sale.
Among the 11 Dubai listings that publish a daily rate, prices run up to AED 5,000, with a typical rate around AED 1,800. Eleven monthly rates run up to AED 65,000, typically AED 30,000. Cost then depends on capacity, hire period, operator and rigging, so request a quote.
Work from the load weight, the radius from the crane to the load and the height to be reached, since capacity drops as the radius grows. Add the ground and access conditions. A supplier can match a machine from those figures and will advise whether a mobile, crawler or spider crane is suitable.
It varies by supplier. One Dubai crane listing currently states that an operator is offered, and for the others the arrangement is confirmed when the supplier is contacted. Ask whether a rigger or banksman is included as well, and note that operators need a valid licence for the machine class.
A mobile crane has wheels and moves quickly between sites, which suits short hires. A crawler crane runs on tracks and is steadier on soft ground, but it needs more time to move and set up. Dubai has 200 mobile cranes and 38 crawler cranes listed today.
Crane lifts on construction sites need a lift plan. Heavy, tandem or unusual lifts typically call for a more detailed study as well. Ask the supplier who prepares the documents, who supplies the rigging, and whether either is included in the quoted price or charged separately.
Many suppliers hire by the day, and 11 Dubai listings publish a daily rate. For a single day, the cost of getting the crane to and from the site can outweigh the hire rate, so ask for mobilisation to be shown separately. Tower and large crawler cranes are normally booked for longer.
It depends on the machine and on the supplier's diary. A small mobile crane can sometimes be arranged quickly, while a large crawler or a lift needing engineering takes longer to plan. Post the request as soon as the date is known and confirm the lead time with the supplier.
Of the 256 Dubai cranes, 254 are listed in Dubai city. Suppliers state their location on each listing, and the mobilisation charge depends on the distance to the site. Confirm that the supplier can reach your site, whether it is in Al Quoz, Jebel Ali (JAFZA), Dubai Investments Park, Al Qusais or Ras Al Khor.
Requirements differ by supplier and by site. Suppliers commonly ask for a signed hire agreement and identification, and the site may ask for the lift plan and a method statement before work begins. Confirm the exact list with the supplier when you agree the hire.
