There are 24 backhoe loaders for sale in the UAE on EquipmentsFinder today, offered by 13 sellers, 2 of them verified. JCB accounts for 14 of the machines and Caterpillar for 6, with Bobcat, Case and Komac making up the rest. Sixteen are in Sharjah, 7 in Dubai and 1 in Ajman, and 7 of the ads show a published asking price.
The backhoe loader is the machine most small contractors in the UAE buy first: a loader bucket at the front, a digging arm at the back, and road wheels so it drives itself between a villa site in Dubai and a trench in Ajman. The listings run from 2016 and 2019 machines to new 2025 units. For project-length needs there is also backhoe loader rental.
Sellers post each machine with photos, year, hours, drive type and extras such as an extending dipper or a breaker circuit, plus an asking price if they choose to publish one. The buyer calls or WhatsApps the seller from the ad, inspects the machine, agrees the price and the paperwork, and pays the seller. EquipmentsFinder takes no commission and charges the buyer nothing.
Two of the 13 sellers carry the verified badge, which confirms the business behind the account. With 24 machines across three emirates, most buyers can see two or three candidates in a day. The buy hub lists skid steers, compactors and the other machines a backhoe is bought alongside.
A two-wheel-drive backhoe is the lighter, cheaper configuration and does the job on firm ground: utility trenches in built-up areas, landscaping, and loading in a yard. On sand or a wet site it loses traction when pushing a full bucket, which is why most UAE buyers now look for four-wheel drive.
Four-wheel drive, often with four-wheel steer, is the standard specification in the UAE and most of the JCB and Caterpillar machines on the site are in this class. It digs, loads and travels on sand without getting bogged, and resale is easier. Check that the front axle engages and that the propshaft and front hubs are dry, as these are the first parts to suffer from sand.
Compact backhoes, such as the Bobcat unit listed today, are built for tight sites: narrow villa plots, inside compounds and alongside existing services. They dig to around three metres and load light trucks. They are not a substitute for a full-size machine on an open site, but for a maintenance contractor or a landscaper they are cheaper to buy, run and transport.
A backhoe loader wins when one machine must do several things on a scattered programme: dig a trench, backfill it, load the spoil, then drive to the next job on the road. A mini excavator digs faster and more accurately in a confined space and a 20-tonne excavator moves far more material per hour, but neither loads a truck as well as the backhoe's front bucket, and both need a trailer for every move.
For a contractor with one machine on villa, utility or maintenance work, the backhoe is the practical choice; where the work is bulk excavation on one site, an excavator and a separate loader are more productive.
The rear arm takes digging buckets of various widths, a ditching bucket, and a hydraulic breaker if the machine has an auxiliary circuit, which is worth confirming on the ad or at inspection. The front loader takes a general-purpose bucket, a 6-in-1 multi-purpose bucket that can grab and grade, and pallet forks for handling blocks and pipes. Quick couplers at both ends save time on sites that switch tools often. Ask which buckets are included, as a machine sold with a full set is worth considerably more than one sold bare.
Seven of the 24 ads currently show a price. Asking prices run from AED 35,000 to AED 185,000, with a typical figure around AED 145,000. The lower end is older two-wheel-drive and high-hour machines; the upper end is late-model and new 4WD units, with the 2025 machines at the top of the range. Prices move with hours, drive type, the number of buckets included and whether a breaker line is fitted, and the sellers who have not published a figure give one on request. Confirm whether VAT and delivery are included.
Seven backhoe loaders are listed in Dubai today. Dubai dealers tend to hold the newer JCB and Caterpillar machines and can often demonstrate them at the yard.
No backhoe loaders are listed in Abu Dhabi at the moment. For the trip from Sharjah or Dubai, sellers normally arrange a low-bed.
Sharjah holds 16 of the 24 machines, the largest share, from traders and contractors in the industrial areas. It is where most of the used stock and the lower asking prices are found.
One backhoe loader is listed in Ajman today. Nothing is currently posted in Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain or Ras Al Khaimah, but Sharjah sellers deliver to all four emirates.
If none of the 24 machines listed today is the right fit, post a request with the drive type, dig depth, budget and delivery emirate, and sellers across the UAE will respond with what they have in stock. Open requests from other buyers can be seen on the inquiry board, and owners selling a backhoe can post an ad free of charge.

Published asking prices on the site today run from AED 35,000 to AED 185,000, with a typical price around AED 145,000; 7 of the 24 ads show a figure and the rest are on request. Older two-wheel-drive machines sit at the low end and new 4WD units at the top. Ask whether VAT, delivery and the buckets are included before comparing offers.
Choose 4WD for sand, open sites and resale value, 2WD for firm ground and a lower price, and a compact machine for narrow plots and work alongside services. Check dig depth against the deepest trench on the programme, confirm an extending dipper if reach matters, and make sure a breaker circuit is fitted if demolition or rock is part of the work.
A used JCB or Caterpillar backhoe with moderate hours and good pins is a reliable buy and costs far less than new. A new machine brings a warranty, current emissions and known history, and the 2025 units on the site reflect that demand. For daily work over several years, weigh the warranty against the saving, and inspect any used machine before paying.
Yes. Arrange a visit through the phone or WhatsApp on the listing; 16 of the machines are in Sharjah and 7 in Dubai. Check the hour meter, the play in the dipper and loader pins, the condition of the front axle and hubs, the hydraulic rams for leaks and scoring, the tyres, and the gearbox and brakes on a drive around the yard.
Ask the seller for a sales invoice in the buyer's name and the machine's ownership papers. Because a backhoe loader travels on the road, it may be registered, in which case the registration must be transferred. The steps differ by emirate, so confirm them with the seller and the relevant authority before paying, and check that the chassis number matches the documents.
JCB leads with 14 of the 24 machines listed, followed by Caterpillar with 6, and one each from Bobcat, Case and Komac. JCB and Caterpillar both have dealer parts and service networks across the emirates, which keeps a used machine working. The model years on the site range from 2016 and 2019 units to new 2025 stock.
