Caterpillar Generators for Sale in the UAE

12 Caterpillar generators are listed for sale in the UAE today by 3 suppliers. All 12 are used and all are in Sharjah. The UAE has 41 generators for sale in total, so Caterpillar covers a good part of the category.

Caterpillar has 127 machines for sale across the UAE in all categories. Here we look only at its generator sets, which supply power for building sites, labour camps, workshops and standby use where the grid fails.

Caterpillar Generators Models Listed

The listings do not state models, kVA ratings or years yet, so the details are on each listing page or come from the supplier on a call. A generator is chosen by its output in kVA, whether it is prime or standby rated, and whether it is in a canopy for outdoor use.

Work out the load from the equipment that will run on it, and add the starting current of any large motors. A camp or a batching plant needs a much bigger set than a site office.

Matching the set to the load matters more than the badge: an oversized generator running lightly wastes diesel and tends to glaze its cylinders.

Prices

Eight of the 12 listings show a price. Asking prices run from AED 25,000 to AED 175,000, with a typical price around AED 70,000. The spread comes from size and running hours, not from the brand alone.

The used generator price guide gives context for what a given size should cost. If you own a set to sell, the machine value tool will help you set the price.

What to Check Before Buying a Caterpillar Generator

• Running hours on the meter, and the service history behind them.
• The kVA rating on the plate, and whether it is prime or standby.
• A test under load, not just an idle run, ideally at about 75 percent of rating.
• Voltage and frequency stability on the control panel (50 Hz for the UAE).
• Oil and coolant leaks at the engine and the alternator end.
• The condition of the batteries, the fuel tank, the canopy and the changeover panel.
• Whether a load bank test can be arranged before payment.

Ask about the fuel system too. A set stored for a long time can have contaminated diesel, and that is cheaper to find out about before you pay than after delivery.
