Too few listings publish a rate to give a reliable typical price, so each supplier quotes on request. Ask for daily and monthly terms, and what the figure covers.
Mini excavators weigh a few tonnes and fit through gates, between buildings and into basements where a full-size machine cannot go. Typical jobs are service trenches, small foundations, landscaping, pipe repairs and breaking slabs. Compare larger machines in the excavators category, or post an inquiry if you need a particular size.
Match the machine to the narrowest access point and the digging depth. Smaller units pass through a standard gate or doorway and suit light trenching, while larger minis dig deeper and lift more. Share the access width and depth with the supplier before choosing.
Rates are set by each supplier and shown on the listing where published; most of the seven are quoted on request. Send the same brief to several suppliers: machine size, hire length, site location and whether you need an operator, then compare like for like.
Most mini excavators travel on a small trailer or truck, but delivery terms vary by supplier. Ask whether the cost is included, whether a return trip is charged, and whether the driver can unload where the site is tight or on an upper-level deck.
Some suppliers offer an operator and others hire the machine bare, as stated on each listing or confirmed on the call. Operators need a valid licence for the machine class, so ask for that and agree working hours before the machine arrives.
