Two container stackers are listed for hire in Dubai today, both from the same supplier and both reach stackers. One is a Terex and the other does not state a make; they date from 2006 and 2015. The supplier is not yet verified. With so few machines, the listings are a starting point and a posted request is often the faster way to find the right handler.
Container stackers lift and stack shipping containers where cranes would be too slow or too costly: at yards, freight depots and project laydown areas. Renters pay Equipment Finders nothing. For machines in other emirates, see the UAE container stacker page.
Open a listing to see the machine, its year and the supplier's phone and WhatsApp number, and call to ask whether it is free on your dates. If you need a different machine, post a request giving the container weights, the stacking height, the number of moves per day and the site. Requests are shown on the inquiry board, where suppliers who have not yet listed stock can reply.
All other categories on the equipment rental hub work the same way.
There are three kinds of machine a yard in Dubai might call for, and only one is listed today. Knowing the differences helps when writing a request.
An empty handler is built for lightweight boxes. Its rated capacity is lower, but its mast lifts high, so it builds tall stacks of empties in a depot or a shipping line's yard. None is listed in Dubai as a separate type today.
A laden stacker is rated for full boxes and has the weight and axles to carry them, at the cost of a lower stacking height. It is the choice where full containers arrive at a site and must be moved to where they are unpacked. None is listed under this heading in Dubai today.
Reach stackers lift on a telescopic boom, so they can place a box behind another one and stack it two or three rows deep. Both Dubai listings fall into this type, which suits a yard with limited aisle space.
Two numbers choose the machine: the heaviest container it will lift and the number of boxes it must stack. A 40-foot container full of cargo weighs far more than the same box empty, so decide whether the work involves loaded or empty units before asking for a rate.
The ground under the stacker matters too. A loaded reach stacker puts a very high load through its front axle, which hard-standing is designed to carry and loose sand is not. Tell the supplier about the surface, and ask which spreader is fitted for the container lengths you handle.
Neither Dubai listing publishes a daily or monthly rate, so no range can be given. The supplier sets the price and states it when you make contact.
Container handling is commonly hired on a monthly basis, with transport, operator and servicing priced as extra lines. Say how long the work will last and the number of moves each day, and ask whether VAT is included in the figure.
Both machines are in Dubai city, a short move for a job in Jebel Ali (JAFZA), Al Quoz, Dubai Investments Park, Al Qusais or Ras Al Khor. The listing gives the machine's location, and the transport charge depends on the distance.
Because the choice is limited, a request with the weights and stack height lets other suppliers offer a handler. If you are searching beyond the emirate, the Dubai equipment hub lists related categories.
Post a container stacker request with the weights, stacking height and dates, and suppliers respond directly. The country-wide page is container stackers across the UAE, and machines for sale are under container stackers for sale.
Neither Dubai listing shows a price, so the rate is agreed with the supplier. It depends on the type of machine, its capacity, the hire period and whether the operator and transport are included. Post a request with the container weights and number of moves to receive a quote.
Empties are light, so a lower-capacity handler with a tall mast can stack them high. Laden boxes can be many times heavier, so they need a machine rated for the heaviest container, which usually stacks lower. Give the supplier the maximum gross weight and they will match a machine.
Not necessarily. Neither of the Dubai listings states that an operator is offered, so ask when you call the supplier. If the machine goes out without a driver, whoever operates it needs a valid licence for the machine class. Confirm responsibility for the machine on site.
It is difficult to arrange, because the machine travels on a low-bed trailer and a short hire carries the whole transport cost. Some suppliers set a minimum period. For one day of unloading, ask whether a crane or a telehandler with a spreader would be cheaper.
Both machines listed are in Dubai city, and the supplier moves them by trailer to the site. Check with the supplier that they can serve Jebel Ali (JAFZA), Al Quoz, Dubai Investments Park, Al Qusais or Ras Al Khor, and ask for transport to be quoted on its own.
