The curve is the shape of demand, not a count. Its highest point is the busiest stretch of the last six months, and everything else is drawn against it.
Rising means the last four weeks brought at least a quarter more requests than usual, cooling at least a fifth fewer. Anything between is steady.
What it means for suppliers
Rising categories are where contractors are asking most. Listing available machines in them, and answering open requests quickly, is where a supplier is most likely to win work.
A cooling curve is not a closed door: requests still come in, and fewer suppliers tend to answer them.

Every request posted on the Equipment Finders inquiry board counts, whether for hire or to buy, including requests our team takes by phone. Deleted requests do not.
Requests are counted per complete week, Monday to Sunday, and each point is the average of four weeks, so one busy day does not read as a trend. The current week is left out until it is over.
