Twenty-five cab and chassis trucks are listed for sale in the UAE today, from 11 suppliers, one of them verified. Fifteen are in Dubai and ten in Sharjah. Mercedes accounts for 14 of the listings, with Volvo (2), Hyundai (1) and Lovol (1) making up most of the rest.
A cab and chassis is a truck sold without a body: the engine, cab, axles and frame are complete, and the buyer fits a tipper, tanker, flatbed, crane or box body afterwards. That makes it the usual starting point for a custom build, or a cheap way to re-body a truck whose old body is worn out.
Of the 13 listings that show a price, asking prices run from AED 35,000 to AED 265,000, with a typical figure around AED 78,000. Age, mileage, axle layout and engine size explain most of the spread. Compare listings, call the sellers directly, and use Post an inquiry if you want a specific make or axle configuration. The wider range is on the trucks for sale page.
It includes the cab, engine, gearbox, axles, wheels and a bare frame, ready for a body to be mounted. It does not include a tipper body, tank, crane or box. Ask the seller whether lights, fuel tank, mudguards and a rear underrun bar are fitted, since bodybuilders need to know before they quote.
Of the 13 priced listings today, asking prices range from AED 35,000 to AED 265,000, with a typical price near AED 78,000. Newer models, longer wheelbases and tandem-axle chassis sit at the top. Prices are set by each seller and are usually open to discussion.
That depends on the wheelbase, axle rating and gross vehicle weight. A short, heavy-duty chassis suits a tipper or mixer, a longer one a flatbed or tanker. Give the bodybuilder the chassis number and axle ratings from the registration card or plate, and ask them to confirm the fit in writing.
Look for frame cracks or weld repairs, uneven tyre wear that suggests axle misalignment, and oil leaks at the engine and gearbox. Ask for the registration card and service history, and confirm the chassis number matches the paperwork. A test drive with a load shows clutch and brake condition better than a static look.
