Models named on the listings are the 660SJ (2), 4394RT (1), 450AJ (2 listings, written two ways), and 860SJ (1). Years are 2014 (2), 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2017, one each.

• Scissor lifts: raise a flat platform straight up. The 4394RT is a rough-terrain scissor of about 13 metres working height, suited to outdoor steel and cladding work. Scissor lifts carry people and tools, but cannot reach over obstacles.
• 660SJ and 860SJ: telescopic boom lifts. The 660SJ is in the 20-metre class and the 860SJ in the 26-metre class, both with a jib for reaching over and up. Common on warehouse, signage and facade jobs.
• 450AJ: an articulating boom of about 15 metres, which can reach over and around obstacles such as pipe racks.

Two listings show a price, which is too few to give a range. Ask each supplier for a quote. Price follows platform height, drive (diesel or electric), age and hours, so a 2002 scissor lift and a 2017 boom lift are not comparable.

What to Check Before Buying a JLG Platform

Inspection: ask for a recent thorough examination record and the date of the last load test. Controls: test both the platform and ground controls, and the emergency lowering. Boom and scissor stack: look for cracked welds, bent members and worn slide pads. Hydraulics: leaks at cylinders and hoses, and creep when raised. Batteries or engine: weak batteries are a common cost on electric lifts, and engines should start and run clean. Alarms and sensors: tilt alarm, descent alarm and pothole protection should all work.
