The brands are Volvo, Hitachi and Hyundai, one machine each. One ad shows a price, so there is no typical figure; ask each supplier for the price in AED and whether VAT is added, and for the weight and year of the machine.
A wheel excavator digs like a track machine but drives on rubber tyres, so it travels between jobs on its own and works on roads and paved areas without damaging the surface. That makes it the usual choice for utility trenching in streets, municipal maintenance, loading, and sites with repeated moves. Compare operating weight, boom type, outriggers and blade, and tyre condition. More machines are under excavators for sale, and a particular size can be requested through post an inquiry.
On paved or firm ground where the machine must move often, a wheel excavator is faster between points and does not mark the road. It also saves the cost of a low-bed on short moves. A track excavator is better in mud, sand and rough ground, where tyres would slip.
Check the tyres for wear and cuts, the axles and drive line for noise and leaks, and the outriggers and dozer blade rams. Look at the boom and arm for cracks, test every hydraulic function and read the hour meter. Ask for service records and the registration papers if the machine is road-registered.
Many wheel excavators can travel on public roads, within the limits of the registration and the permits needed for their weight and width. The rules depend on the machine, so ask the supplier whether the listed unit is registered, and confirm the paperwork before buying it.
