Two scissor lift platforms are listed under aerial platforms for sale in the UAE today, from 2 suppliers, neither verified. One machine stands in Dubai and the other in Sharjah. Only one ad carries a price, so a typical figure cannot be given; ask the supplier for the price in AED and confirm whether VAT is added. Both ads leave the brand blank, so ask which make and model the machine is before visiting.
A scissor lift raises a wide, flat platform vertically on crossed steel arms. It carries two or more workers plus tools and material, which makes it the usual choice for ceiling work, cladding, painting, sprinkler and cable-tray installation on a smooth floor. It cannot reach over obstacles the way a boom can. The category page for aerial platforms shows the other types, and post an inquiry lets a buyer state the platform height needed.
A scissor lift goes straight up and has a large platform that holds several people and materials, but it cannot reach sideways. A boom lift reaches over and around obstacles with a smaller basket. For repetitive overhead work across a floor, such as ceilings, the scissor lift is normally the cheaper and more stable choice.
Rough-terrain models with larger wheels, diesel engines and stabilisers work on uneven ground, while slab-type electric models are meant for smooth indoor floors. Check which type each ad describes, and ask for the wind limit in the manual, since a tall platform with a large surface is affected by gusts.
Cycle the platform fully up and down, watching that the arms rise evenly and the lowering is smooth. Look for oil on the cylinders and for cracks near the pivot points, test the guard rails and gate, and run the batteries down to see their real capacity. Ask for service records and the last inspection.
Most scissor lifts are transported on a flatbed or a low-bed, and many electric slab models fit a pickup with a ramp. Both listed machines are in Dubai or Sharjah, so local delivery is short. Agree loading, transport cost and any gate or site access arrangements with the supplier before paying.
