Both ads show a price, but two figures are too few to give a typical one, so read each ad and ask the supplier to confirm the price in AED and whether VAT is added.
A manlift is a compact personnel platform, usually electric, that lifts one or two people straight up a mast. It fits indoor jobs where a boom lift is too big: changing lights, running ducting and cable tray, fitting ceilings and servicing racking in narrow aisles. Manlifts cover a wide range of platform heights, so read the specification on each ad rather than assuming. The platform height plus about two metres of reach for the person on it gives the practical working height. For ceilings in a warehouse or showroom, compare that figure with the highest point to be worked on.
Many models are narrow enough to pass a standard double door, which is their main advantage over scissor and boom lifts. Ask the supplier for the stowed width, length and weight, and measure the route. Floor loading matters too, so check the machine weight against what the slab or mezzanine can carry.
Charge the batteries and test how long they hold, since weak batteries are the costliest repair. Raise and lower the platform several times, test the tilt alarm and the emergency lowering, and look at the mast for leaks or scoring. Ask for service records and the latest inspection report.
Small manlifts can often be collected on a pickup or small truck, which saves the cost of a low-bed. Both listed machines are in Dubai or Sharjah, so a visit and collection can usually be done in one day. Agree who loads the machine and who is responsible during transport.
