Need equipment? Have equipment?
Buyers post one request and get quotes from verified suppliers. Suppliers list free and reach active demand.
No lifting equipment is listed for hire in Mumbai today. Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai have no supplier stock on the site yet. A hirer in Mumbai can post a request, and owners of hoists, winches, jacks and rigging gear are welcome to list them free. The India lifting equipment page covers the other metros.
Many lifts in the city happen where a crane cannot go. In old buildings, hoists move machines up stairwells and through shafts. At the port and in the JNPT back-up yards, rigging secures and shifts heavy cargo. In factories at Taloja and Khopoli, jacks and gantries position machines. Ship repair and marine work on the harbour need winches and slings, often in damp salt air.
Chain hoists lift on a beam or tripod. Winches pull loads along or up a slope. Jacks and gantries lift and roll heavy machines and fabrications. Slings and rigging, including chain, wire rope, webbing and shackles, connect the load.
Check the safe working load marked on each item against the heaviest load, with margin. Sling angles raise the force on each leg. Salt and humidity corrode chain and rope faster, so ask for the test and inspection certificate and look at the condition of the item on arrival. Reject anything with a missing tag, a kinked rope or a cut sling.
Manual hoists work where there is no electricity, as in a stairwell or a basement before power is connected. Powered units save effort on repeated lifts but need a supply and a trained operator. Hire suits occasional jobs: moving a press into a bay, lifting a lift motor, or relocating a safe. For larger loads a lift plan is advisable.
Small items can come by van, while gantries and heavy jacks need a truck, subject to city timing rules for heavy vehicles. Buyers can see lifting equipment for sale in Mumbai, and the Mumbai rental hub lists other equipment.
None are published because nothing is listed. Suppliers will price per item and period, and safe working load and delivery change the total. Ask for GST on its own line.
Know the load weight, the lift height and what the item hangs from, then choose a safe working load with margin and allow for sling angles. A supplier can advise from these facts.
Reputable suppliers provide them, but practice varies, so the listing or quote should say. Ask to see the certificate and its date before use. Never take an item that carries no marked safe working load.
Often yes for small items. Minimum hire periods and delivery charges are set by each supplier, and delivery can cost more than the daily rate. Ask about collection and overrun.
Each supplier states its area. Light gear moves easily across the metro, while heavy jacks and gantries need a truck and face timing limits. Give the address.
Post a request naming the item, the load, the dates and the delivery address. Suppliers who sign up can answer by phone or on WhatsApp. Posting is free for hirers.
