No lifting equipment is listed for hire in Kolkata today. Hoists, winches, jacks and slings move loads that people cannot, and they are often needed for a day or a shutdown. Post a request naming the load and the site, and suppliers can send back a quote in INR. Owners can list their gear free.
Suppliers list items and agree terms directly with the hirer by phone or WhatsApp. EquipmentsFinder charges hirers nothing and takes no commission. Ask whether the price includes delivery, a test or inspection certificate and GST.
Howrah's foundries, workshops and engineering units move heavy castings and machine parts, and gantries and hoists are common there. Port-side warehouses and the yards on the Kolkata bank of the Hooghly handle bulky cargo that needs slings and spreader beams. Old buildings in the city may need machinery taken in through narrow openings, and a tripod hoist or a set of jacks and skates can do what a crane cannot reach. Metro and bridge work uses winches and jacks during installation and maintenance. Plant shutdowns for repairs, including the electrical substations on the city's edge, bring short, planned demand.
Equipment that hoists a load needs to be sound and rated for it. Ask for the safe working load, and a current test or inspection certificate where the supplier provides one. Do not exceed the rating, and inspect slings for wear.
Say the weight, the size of the load, the height and the fixing point available. A beam, a tripod or a gantry may be needed to hang the hoist. Hoists and gear are used with trained people, so ask the supplier what guidance is provided.

No rates are published because nothing is listed. Suppliers price by the item and by the day, week or month. Ask for GST and delivery to be shown separately.
Match it to the weight, height and fixing point. A chain hoist lifts, a winch hauls, jacks raise in small steps and slings connect the load. A supplier can advise.
That differs by supplier and item. Ask for the safe working load and any current certificate before the gear is sent, and check it on arrival.
Often yes, since many items are small and move easily. A minimum period may apply, so confirm it.
Usually gear is hired without one, though some suppliers can send people. For powered machines, whoever operates them needs a licence valid for the machine class.
What is covered depends on the supplier, and the listing or quote says so. Small items can be sent quickly within the city and Howrah.
