Need equipment? Have equipment?
Buyers post one request and get quotes from verified suppliers. Suppliers list free and reach active demand.
No engines are listed for sale in India today. EquipmentsFinder has only just re-opened India, and sellers are still being added. If you need an engine, post a purchase request with the make, power and use, and suppliers can reply to you directly.
Suppliers with engines to sell can list them free. Your contact details show on the listing, so buyers reach you by phone or WhatsApp.
An engine bought on its own is a different job from a machine bought whole. You are matching a power unit to something that already exists: a generator set, a pump, a compressor, a boat or a crusher. That makes the specification the first thing to settle, and the seller's description the second.
Generator-set builders speak in kVA, machine builders in horsepower or kW. Ask each seller to state the figure on the engine plate and whether it is a prime or standby rating. A standby rating is for emergency use only and runs the engine harder than a prime rating would.
If the engine will run daily on a site, a warehouse or a cold store, choose a prime-rated unit with margin above the load. For a back-up that runs a few hours a year, standby is acceptable and cheaper. State which one in your request.
Typical buyers are generator-set assemblers, factories and warehouses replacing a failed unit, contractors repowering a machine, and boat operators. A replacement is easiest when the old engine plate is photographed and sent along with the request.
Ask for the engine make and model, the serial number, the hours or kilometres, and photographs of the plate and the block. Ask whether it is new, used or reconditioned, and who did the reconditioning. A written answer to each is better than a phone call you cannot refer back to.
Engine prices in India are shown in INR and set by the seller. No figures can be quoted yet. When you compare quotations, check whether they include GST, the flywheel and bell housing, the starter and alternator, and transport.
Listings will sit under the six metro areas: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Engines are heavy but easy to crate, so a seller in another city is often still practical. If you only need one for a few months, look at engines for rent.
It depends on power, make, age and hours, and each seller sets the price. No engines are listed yet, so no figure is given here. Ask for quotations in INR that say whether GST and delivery are included.
Work back from the load. Note the power, speed, rotation, mounting and cooling arrangement the driven equipment needs, and the fuel and emissions rules that apply at your site. Put these in your request.
New engines bring a warranty. Used or reconditioned ones cost less, but ask for the hours, the service history and what was replaced. Avoid a unit whose hours cannot be explained.
Ask the seller to start the engine cold and let you see it run under load. Check for smoke, oil pressure, blow-by and leaks. A mechanic you trust is worth bringing along.
A tax invoice with GST details and the engine serial number is the minimum. For an engine fitted to a registered vehicle or vessel, ask the seller what else is needed.
Yes. Send the plate details or photos of the old engine in your request and suppliers can suggest a match.
