There is no compactor listed for rent in Las Vegas right now. A contractor preparing a pad or a road can post a request, and an owner can list a compactor for free. The national compactor rental page covers other metros.
Every new building pad, parking lot and road in the valley sits on soil that must be compacted to a specified density. Native soils are often sandy or gravelly with caliche lumps, and they take water poorly, so moisture conditioning is part of the job. Engineers test the result, and a pad that fails has to be reworked, which makes the right roller important.
Say what material you are compacting, the layer depth and the area. Large subdivision work calls for a ride-on vibratory roller, whereas a trench behind a pipe needs a rammer or a plate. Ask whether the drum can run with vibration on and off, because vibration helps sand but can damage nearby structures.
Soil must contain the right moisture, so a water truck often travels with the roller. Dust permits matter on large pads, and afternoon temperatures can dry a layer faster than the roller can finish it. Hot asphalt cools faster in wind, so paving crews plan rolling closely.
A failed density test can mean tearing up a pad and starting over, so schedule the roller so that passes finish before the next truck dumps. Keep the lifts thin enough for the drum to reach the bottom. Talk to the owner about drum weight, amplitude and frequency settings if your engineer specified them, and ask for the machine to arrive clean, fueled and with a working water system.
If you want your own roller, see compactors for sale in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas rental hub lists the rest.
Without listings there is no rate to quote. Type, weight, duration and delivery affect the cost.
A vibratory smooth drum roller for granular fill, or a padfoot for clay. Your engineer can specify it.
Owners handle this in different ways. A trained operator gives more even results.
Plate compactors are often hired for short periods, if an owner is nearby.
