There is no crane for sale in Asir on EquipmentsFinder yet, and the region's lifting contractors have had to look elsewhere. Buyers around Abha and Khamis Mushait can post a purchase request giving capacity, boom length and budget, then wait for sellers from other regions to respond with their machines.
A contractor who expects steady lifting in the mountains has different priorities from one working on coastal flats. A crane that will spend years climbing to hillside plots needs sound brakes, an engine that keeps its power in thinner air, and axles and steering that cope with sharp bends. Ask the seller how the machine has been used: a unit that has only lifted in yards is a different purchase from one that has worked on slopes.
Compact cranes deserve attention here. Many sites in Asir are terraced plots with narrow access, and a smaller truck-mounted or spider crane may be worth more than a large one that cannot reach the job.
Take the crane to full extension on a test lift if the seller allows it, and view it in dry weather so that leaks and corrosion are easy to see.
Once bought, the crane has to reach the site. Heavy models travel on a low-bed, and the route over the Sarawat escarpment may need a permit or an escort for oversized loads. Include that cost, plus VAT, when comparing a crane in another region with one nearby.
The Saudi cranes for sale page shows stock in all regions, and the Makkah Region cranes are the nearest on the map. Back at the hub, the Asir buying page links the other machine groups. Owners who want to sell can post a crane advert with photos, year and hours.
Not through EquipmentsFinder. The region has no crane advert, so a request is the way to attract offers.
A compact truck-mounted or spider crane copes with tight access better than a heavy all-terrain model. Match the choice to the road, not only to the heaviest lift.
A new crane brings a warranty and current safety systems. Second-hand costs less but needs a careful look at the boom, ropes and brakes, especially if it has worked on steep ground.
Some sellers fold haulage into the price and others quote it apart, so ask before comparing figures in SAR.
A tax invoice, proof of ownership, load charts, manuals and a recent inspection certificate. Wheeled cranes also need their registration transferred.
Most will arrange a demonstration lift. Agree the test load and radius beforehand and watch the outriggers and boom behaviour.
