Need equipment? Have equipment?
Buyers post one request and get quotes from verified suppliers. Suppliers list free and reach active demand.
No pipe layers are listed for hire in Riyadh today. Sidebooms are specialist machines that move between pipeline spreads rather than sitting in hire yards, so the way to reach one is to post a request giving the pipe diameter, the heaviest joint to be lifted and the dates; verified suppliers across Saudi Arabia see it, including pipeline contractors with a machine idle between spreads.
Every pipe layer listed in the Kingdom appears on the Saudi pipe layers for hire page, with regional pages for the Makkah Region and the Dammam Eastern Province. The Riyadh hire hub lists the capital's other categories, including the excavators and dozers that work alongside a sideboom.
EquipmentsFinder charges renters nothing and takes no commission; the supplier's phone and WhatsApp number sit on every listing. A posted request is published on the inquiry board and suppliers reply to it directly with a price for the stated spread.
Sidebooms rated up to about 40 tonnes, built on mid-size dozer tracks, handle water, sewer and gas distribution mains in diameters to roughly 600 mm. They suit the utility corridors being laid through Riyadh's expanding northern and eastern districts, where working room beside the trench is limited.
Machines of 70 tonnes and above lower large-diameter transmission pipe and lift coated joints on the trunk lines that cross Riyadh Province. They work in pairs or threes on a spread, and their size means they travel on a heavy lowbed with an escort.
Capacity on a sideboom falls sharply as the boom extends, so size the machine against the heaviest joint at the reach the trench demands, not against the nominal rating. Concrete-coated or thick-wall pipe weighs far more per metre than bare steel. On a lowering-in operation several machines share one length, and the supplier should confirm the number required for the pipe weight and the bedding plan.
No listing is live, so no rate can be quoted. Sidebooms are priced by the week or month in SAR, almost always with an operator, and transport on a heavy lowbed is a large part of a short hire. Ask whether the figure covers the operator, fuel, rigging and hooks, mobilisation in and out and VAT.
Riyadh Province holds no listed pipe layer at present. When a supplier posts one it shows in the grid above with its location, whether that is a contractor's yard south of the city near Al Kharj, the industrial districts by King Khalid International Airport, or a pipeline camp out towards Diriyah.
State the pipe diameter and wall, the heaviest joint, the number of machines, the dates and the route. Suppliers respond from the inquiry board with a quote and their own contact details. A pipeline contractor with a sideboom idle in Riyadh can list it free.
No pipe layer is listed in Riyadh at present, so no rate can be quoted. Suppliers price sidebooms in SAR by the week or month, nearly always with an operator, and heavy lowbed transport makes up much of the cost of a short hire. A quote should state what it includes, from fuel and rigging to mobilisation and VAT.
Decide by the heaviest joint at the working reach. Distribution mains up to about 600 mm are handled by machines in the 40-tonne class, which also fit the narrow working strips of urban utility corridors. Large transmission pipe and coated joints call for 70-tonne machines and above, usually working in a group of two or three.
Operated hire is the norm for sidebooms and is stated on the listing or confirmed when the supplier is contacted. Lowering-in needs machines that move in step, which comes with experience of the work. Where the contractor provides the operator, that person must hold a valid licence for the machine class.
A daily hire is rare for a sideboom because transport on a heavy lowbed costs the same for a day as for a month, and suppliers generally set a minimum of a week or more. A short job may be cheaper with a crawler crane or an excavator fitted with a vacuum lifter, which suppliers on the site also offer.
No stock is listed, so coverage cannot be stated. A request that gives the route, whether through the city, along the Al Kharj road, around the airport or west past Diriyah, lets suppliers in the capital and in Dammam Eastern Province or the Makkah Region decide whether they will mobilise to it and quote for that distance.
That depends on the pipe weight per metre, the length being lowered and the trench profile, not on a fixed rule. Small-diameter mains are often lowered with two machines; large transmission pipe may need three or four spaced along the length. The supplier or the pipeline engineer should confirm the number before the hire is agreed.
